Calling All Women

Dan Jeffers has brought an issue to my attention and although it is not a workplace issue it is a health issue and I feel it is worth mentioning. Now to be honest I am not in the position to set up an activity, I am tapped out already, however it is our duty to do what we can so here you go!

The Heart Truth campaign in helping spread the word that heart disease is the #1 killer of American women. Please tell others about the fifth annual National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1, 2008. This observance provides an opportunity for everyone to unite nationwide in a life-saving movement to urge women to find out their risk for heart disease and take action to lower it by showing off a favorite red dress, shirt, or tie, and the Red Dress Pin—the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness.

The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Make a difference in women's lives by using The Heart Truth materials at http://emall.nhlbihin.net/heart_truth/.

More information about National Wear Red Day, including an Online Toolkit packed with activity ideas, is available on The Heart Truth’s Web pages at: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/hearttruth/wrd/index.htm
