Corporate Manslaughter Around the World

Corporate Manslaughter

A new law on Corporate Manslaughter comes into effect in the UK from 6 April 2008. This introduces a new offence for prosecuting companies and other organisations where there has been a gross failing, throughout the organisation, in the management of health and safety with fatal consequences. The Ministry of Justice has produced an introduction to the Act (pdf, 162KB)pdf and detailed guidance on the introduction of the Act (pdf, 184KB)pdf.
